TSPL & ZPL — tags and labels

Label printers take their own language. restroheart.in emits it directly, which is why a 50×12mm tag comes out 50×12mm instead of scaled onto an A4 page.

Printers, phones, scanners and what happens when one of them stops working mid-service.

Yes, and the reason is worth understanding, because it is structural rather than a promise. Most POS software treats a printer as a document destination — it renders a page and hands it to a driver, so every printer model becomes its own driver, its own paper size and its own thing that breaks. restroheart.in does not do that. It writes ESC/POS, the command language nearly every thermal receipt printer already understands, and sends those bytes straight to the device. Because the printer is being spoken to in its own language, the model matters far less than the transport does: if it takes ESC/POS over USB, LAN or Bluetooth, it prints. That is why this page lists protocols first and models second.
